山東春季高考與傳統(tǒng)的夏季高考不盡相同，其主要特點有兩個方面：首先，高校有了更多的自主權。在招生計劃上有調節(jié)權，生源質量好、學校條件許可，可適當擴大招生名額。其次，考生有了更多的選擇權。除由國家承認學歷的各類高等學校和高中階段各類學校在校學生外，凡符合有關規(guī)定者均可在秋考之外再選擇參加春考。但由于對考生吸引力不大，面臨被叫停的危險。

　　藝術聯考，就是指目前國內比較權威，及教育部備案的各大藝術類院校，或者各大院校的藝術系對于高中三年級藝術類考生在高三第一學期末舉行的一次綜合的專業(yè)考試。考試合格者獲得報考院校的專業(yè)合格證，持此合格證書參加高考，高考成績公布以后，各藝術類院校進行擇優(yōu)錄取。
